Job summary

An exciting opportunity has risen for a senior nurse with extensive experience in colorectal and GI nursing to join our Stoma and Pouch Clinical Nurse Specialists team at St Marks Hospital - National Bowel Hospital as a Band 7 CNS.

We pride ourselves on working within a strong multi-disciplinary team which is made up of supportive and experienced clinicians. In our team you will have the opportunity to work closely with our colorectal surgeons and other external stakeholders to deliver the highest and expertise care to patients.

The post holder will provide long term management and support to patients with a stoma, pouch or fistula. This specific care will be provided through comprehensive clinical skills, information, advice and support to patients undergoing stoma or pouch forming surgery in addition to the continued development and management of Nurse Led Clinics and the telephone and email advice lines.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will provide long term management and support to patients with a stoma or fistula They will also have an opportunity to work closely and support the pouch nurse specialists within the team.
  • This specific care will be provided through comprehensive clinical skills, information, advice and support to patients undergoing pouch/ stoma forming surgery in addition to the continued development and management of Nurse Led Clinics and the telephone and email advice lines.
  • -Providing clinical leadership/education to both own team and others i.e. inpatient ward/outpatient teams.

  • Colorectal, gastrointestinal, IBD, or stoma care nursing qualification
