An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pelvic Floor and Intestinal Failure Units at St. Mark's Hospital as the Pelvic Floor Fellow. This role is perfect for candidates looking for a fellowship after completion of their general colorectal training.
The Sir Alan Park's Physiology Unit was the first in the world and now boasts an unparalleled Biofeedback Team. Tests in the Unit are currently carried out by medical research fellows, all of whom are skilled in their field, by the clinical scientists and by the nurse specialists. The fellow will help to run the physiology unit and pelvic floor MDT.
The Intestinal Failure Unit at St Mark's is currently one of only two National Intestinal Failure Units in the UK. Additionally the Unit admits many patients from abroad.
The Fellow will be involved with the majority of the surgical patients in this unit together with the RSO.
Main duties of the job
The post also provides support to the General Surgery on-call rota. The post holder would take part in a 1:7 rota.

Clinical DutiesTo undertake clinical investigations in patients with pelvic floor or gastrointestinal conditions including:i.To assist in the clinics and theatre of Miss Vaizey and Mr Tozer.ii.To attend the theatre for major intestinal failure cases when an additional assistant is required.iii. To assist in teaching sessions when courses on pelvic floor or intestinal failure are run in the hospital.iv.The post holder will participate in on call duties at the discretion of the Trust.
Additional payments for these duties will be made in line with the NHS guidelines
