Job summary

As a Healthcare Assistant, your role is vital in providing essential support to patients and other healthcare professionals within various healthcare settings.
Overall, as an NHS Band 2 Healthcare Assistant, you play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and support to patients while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Main duties of the job

Patient Care:
- Helping patients with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and personal care.
- Checking and recording patients' vital signs like blood pressure and temperature.

Support for Clinical Procedures:
- Assisting nurses and doctors during medical procedures and exams.
- Helping prepare patients for surgery.

Record Keeping and Documentation:
- Keeping accurate patient records, including vital signs and any changes in their condition.

Patient Interaction and Communication:
- Offering emotional support to patients and their families.
- Communicating well with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Infection Control and Health Promotion:
- Following strict infection control rules to stop infections spreading.
- Encouraging healthy habits and lifestyles among patients.

Equipment Maintenance and Stock Management:
- Making sure medical equipment works correctly.
- Keeping an eye on supplies and restocking as needed.

Team Collaboration:
- Working closely with other healthcare professionals to give patients the best care.
- Taking part in team meetings and discussions about patient care.

Professional Development:
- Learning new skills to improve in the role.
- Attending training programs and workshops provided by the NHS.
