Job summary

London Northwest Healthcare is part of the Acute Collaborative with Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Hillingdon Hospitals Trust as the third of 4 Trusts in NWL to adopt the Cerner EPR Programme.

This is part of an innovative and exciting programme to become recognised as a Global Digital Exemplar Trust. This role will play an important part in supoporting the London North West Hospitals NHS Trust post go-live on the Cerner electronic patient record system (EPR). The implementation has been an enabler to supporting transformation of care process models and patient pathway development across both organisations, improving the patient experience and outcomes.

An EPR operational transformation function is required to ensure that the LNWHT EPR implementation stabalises and administrative and clinical teams can be supported to optimise the new EPR.

The post holder must understand the complex set of systems (people and processes) that make up a set of hospitals and be able to relate this to how the Cerner system can support them and vice versa . They will be required to support the Trust as it goes through the biggest change management programmes a Trust can face. This role requires in depth knowledge of the Cerner system, how it can be designed and set up to support the trust transforms ways of working to gain the maximum benefit.

Main duties of the job

Key Purpose of Job:

Working with the Deputy Chief Operating Officer and the CCIO and CNIO, this is a key role to support with stabilisation since going live with our new EPR Cerner and the safe and effective delivery of operational pathways post Cerner go-live.

The post holder will support the Trust's stabilisation plan with a key focus on:

  • Working with the Divisional Teams, Corporate teams and Cerner Programme team to address potential challenges impacting on the efficient delivery of pathways post Cerner go-live.
  • Working with services to identify and deliver key actions required to capture all activity and manage operational performance.

The Cerner Workflows Transformation Manager will contribute to project start-up and delivery, promoting an understanding of the Cerner workflows, supporting with training and championing the professional discipline of project management.

The Cerner Workflows Transformation Manager is accountable to Chief Information Officer for working in a professional manner and in accordance with its defined methods, governance and reporting.

The post holder will be responsible to the senior team for the effective scoping, planning and delivery of projects related to Cerner workflows and ensure they run to planned timescale, budget and quality expectations, which includes the production and maintenance of all relevant plans, controls, management and effective transition into operational service provision.
