Job summary
The post holder will be a current practicing midwife who is part of the Clinical Leadership that ensures high standards of Midwifery & Nursing practice is delivered to all. Responsible for operational delivery that reduces harm and identifies risks related to morbidity and mortality.
To work in collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders seeking quality improvement initiatives, ideally undertaking Audit and morbidity and mortality reviews. Promoting positive patient experience, ensuring evidence based practices are embedded. Promoting a just and fair culture.
The post holder will engage in clinical practice for 50% of the time and will act as a role model, promoting inclusive compassionate care. You will Support Senior Management Team, PMRT Team, and work closely with speciality Operational Managers, review cases, liaise with the Bereavement Team and provide a link for parents and people who have birthed and experienced lots of harm.
Main duties of the job
- Provide safe and effective care to pregnant women during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum period
- Provide proactive and effective Leadership
- Work in partnership with women and their families
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Multidisciplinary team
- Highly developed communication skills in challenging situations in which there may be barriers to communication and changing circumstances
- Provides specialist midwifery care for a specific group of women
- Advises and provides specialist support to midwives in related clinical areas
- Shares specialist knowledge with other professional group and agencies
