Job summary

LNWH are excited to announce the roll out of several new Physician Associate posts in a number of specialities as part of a pilot programme to develop our workforce. We have seen over the last 12 years how Physician Associates can be a great asset to our clinical teams and are now able to expand our PA cohort into new services. This PA post is part of a 12 month fixed term contract being advertised across the Trust, with a hope to embed these roles long term.

The Trust is seeking to recruit an experienced PA with good foundation experience of working in the primary or secondary care setting. This role will be working as part of the Interventional Radiology clinical team. The PA will work under a supervising consultant, providing care and support for clinical teams. The postholder will be given an opportunity to manage patients in a range of clinical settings across the Trust. This is a development role, and the post holder will be supported to develop their career within the Directorate and Division.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will be expected to manage patients within clinical teams at the direction of the supervising consultant.
  • The post holder will manage patients in all areas covered by their supervising consultant and clinical team.
  • To exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy when assessing, managing and planning care for a caseload of specific patients with a variety of presentations.
  • To develop extensive specialist knowledge and experience in your clinical area, acting as a resource to the clinical team and allied health professionals.
  • To contribute to the trust professional standards and targets.
  • To support the work of local and national audits.
