Job summary
The post-holder is responsible for leading and managing the professional education and development of the emergency nurse/care practitioner team in conjunction with the Lead Nurse. This partnership will strive to effectively meet the learning needs of emergency nurse/care practitioners across London North West University Healthcare.
This will involve working closely with managers, Midwifery and Nursing colleagues and other professional leads to identify learning needs so that commissioning with higher education institutions and other education providers is coordinated and streamlined for emergency and urgent services. The post-holder will participate, inform and advise on future professional education and training, ensuring cost effectiveness and outcomes are in line with the organisations strategic direction.
Must have both ENP/ACP qualification experience
Main duties of the job
- To co-ordinate and facilitate the educational and development activities of individual emergency nurse/care practitioners, by working in partnership with the HEI to promote evidenced based learning in the development of emergency nurse/care practitioner practice, encompassing local and national service objectives.
- In conjunction with the lead nurse on the education strategy for emergency and urgent This will feed into the overall strategy for education in the Trust.
- Provide supervision in practice to all emergency nurse/care practitioners to establish the training requirements necessary to deliver care
- Provide clinical and professional advice ensuring optimal use of skills of all staff working within clinical areas.
- Provide practice based continuing professional development for mentors including education and skills in teaching and assessing in clinical practice.
- Work in collaboration with the lead nurse and senior management team to move services forward in line with external agencies and Government initiatives and the overall vision for the service.
- Participate in recruitment and selection of staff in the recognise, review and act upon issues associated with retention of staff.
- Participate in Quality Monitoring processes including the NMC review and practice placement
