Job summary
Working closely alongside the General Manager and Clinical Leadership team, the post-holder will ensure the smooth running of the day to day operations of Theatres across the Trust sites.
This includes supporting the delivery of performance targets, improving efficiency and throughput, finance, standards and quality of services.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Direct line manager for the service team who are key in helping to ensure the smooth running of Theatre and Anaesthetic team.
- Supporting the day to day delivery of Theatre Service to ensure that elective and non-elective patients have their surgical procedures in the appropriate time frame.
- Develop and manage reports to ensure that relevant information is updated weekly to be presented to the Trust Executives through the appropriate forum.
- Ensure that compliance to national standards and SOPs are maintained
- Co-ordinate and organise the Enhanced Care Unit (ECU) bed bookings via ICE and emails
- Provide direct support to the ECU Consultants with day to day activity of the Enhanced Care Unit
- Work collaboratively with all sectors to ensure ECU beds are booked efficiently and competently and in a timely manner
- Manage the database administration of the ECU bed booking system
- Work closely with the clinical staff on the Enhanced Care Unit to ensure all administration needs are met efficiently
- Collate and distribute ECU staffing rotas
- Manage the stationery budget for the Unit.

- Participate in the regular theatre staff meetings, preparing update reports as required.
- Train and advise clinicians/management on optimal use of reporting.
- The Directorates main representative on projects/programmes relating to theatre improvement and IT projects involving theatre information
