The specialist palliative care service at Northwick Park Hospital is currently seeking a Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join our dedicated and dynamic multi-professional team. The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of our service, through strong medical leadership and will influence excellence in clinical care, by creating collaborative working relationships across both professional and organisational boundaries, to include local and regional stakeholders within the Integrated Care System.
Main duties of the job
Key aims of the post are.
- To provide consultant level specialist palliative medicine expertise to patients, palliative care Clinical Nurse Specialists
- To play a role in improving the palliative and end of life care for patients at Northwich Park Hospital, St Luke's Hospice, Harrow community and other care environments
- To work alongside other specialist palliative care personnel to continuously improve the skills of Trust staff of all disciplines
- To contribute to the palliative care team's education and training programme for healthcare professionals
- To contribute to the development of the palliative care service at LNWUHT and throughout the Northwest London health sector
- To participate in the managerial and strategic work of the service, contributing to the constant modernisation and quality improvement of the service
