Job summary
To act as a team leader to an identified group of staff, monitoring anddocumenting the development of their clinical skillsContribute to smooth running of the theatre list.To establish, lead and maintain high standard of peri-operative careTo contribute positively towards the delivery of a cost effectiveservice, adjusting staffing levels to meet demand and assisting theclinical co-ordinators to keep within agreed resources
Main duties of the job
To assist with the ongoing organisation of the unit, includingresponsibility for a designated area of practice within department on adaily basis, to ensure optimal theatre utilisation at all times, facilitatingtimely admission and discharge of patientsTo deputise in the absence of band 7 Lead PractitionerDevelop and monitor performance of junior staff within TheatresParticipate in the development of staff, ensuring appropriate skillmix and uphold agreed standards of care.As appropriate, participate in disciplinary, grievance and absencemanagement procedureTo actively support the process of risk management and health &safety - upholding relevant policies to promote this and ensuringincidents are reported appropriately (in writing) and helping identifyways of preventing errors and accidents to both patients and staff.To participate in the allocation of staff in designated area ofresponsibility.To participate in the on call rota.
