Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join the Fleet Team in the Make Ready department has arisen at our Kingsmill Ambulance Station. This will involve Making Ready Front line ambulances for crews to respond to 999 calls in, ensuring the crews have the necessary medical equipment that is in good working order, topping up consumables and checking the vehicles emergency lights and sirens work along with checking the vehicle has the required amount of oil and coolant fluid.

Main duties of the job

The candidate must have a C1 Driving Licence as they will be asked at times to collect and deliver ambulances to different ambulance stations, be highly organised and methodical as will be checking equipment and ensuring the required consumables are in good, in date condition and available in the correct location for the crews to attend patients. The candidate must have excellent communication skills as will have daily contact will crews and colleagues in the Fleet department.

About us

The Make Ready department is a team of 7 consisting of 1 Team Supervisor and 6 Vehicle Preparation Operatives. There is usually 2 members of the team on at a time. The team work within the Fleet workshop so will also have daily interaction with the Workshop Team Leaders, mechanics and support staff. The department is a very busy but friendly and supportive environment to work in.
