Job summary
This is a new opportunity for a 10 PA Consultant post in the Lambeth Community Forensic service.
This post will suit someone with good communication and liaison skills and excellent psychiatric knowledge. Candidates with a special interest will be supported to develop this as part of their role.
Main duties of the job
The job plan is 10 PAs including 2.5 sessions for Supporting Professional Activities. Please refer to JD for more details.
About us
The Lambeth Community Forensic Team is one of four borough-based community forensic teams in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. It is made up of two part time and two full-time Consultant Psychiatrists (including this post), a full-time Senior Trainee in Forensic Psychiatry, a part-time SAS doctor, a full-time Team Leader, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Senior Psychologist, 5 Community Psychiatric Nurses, an Out of Area placement coordinator and a Senior Administrator.

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Full registration with the General Medical Council
- Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining CCT in forensic or general adult psychiatry
- Section 12 approval
- Approved Clinician status
- Registered for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
Desirable
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, management or research
- Additional clinical qualifications

- Inpatient or community forensic experience
- Management of patients with complex mental health needs
- Competence in the assessment and management of physical ill health
- Quality assurance & improvement
- Experience of teaching medical students, psychiatric trainees and other NHS staff

- Experience in writing papers for academic journals and training materials
- Experience of participation in research project
