Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include:

  • Reviewing and managing inpatients and the team caseload, handling the day-to-day service workload.
  • Attending ward rounds, team meetings, and Care Programme Approach (CPA) meetings.
  • Carrying out risk assessments and formulating appropriate risk management plans.
  • Developing and implementing care plans for patients.
  • Conducting physical health monitoring, including physical examinations and investigations as needed.
  • Liaising with GPs and other professionals or teams within and outside the Trust
  • Maintaining accurate and clear record-keeping, including preparing reports, letters, discharge notifications, and summaries, and ensuring all relevant information is recorded in the Trust's electronic notes system.
  • Participating in service evaluation, audit, research, and quality improvement activities.
  • Engaging in service development and clinical governance activities.
  • Participating in academic activities, including teaching, case presentations, and reflective practice sessions.
  • Receiving regular supervision and support, with access to study leave and professional development opportunities.
