Job summary
This is a brilliant opportunity for an Expert by Experience to join the service and to help develop peer support within Perinatal Services on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
The post holder will contribute their lived experience knowledge and expertise in supporting the organisation to embed peer-led, recovery-focused services.
Perinatal Community Services are a mental health team, offering assessment and treatment to mums (and families) during the perinatal period. The services operate on Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00.
It will assist mothers to establish greater control over their lives, help to identify aspects of life that give meaning, hope, value and purpose whilst recognising that an individual's recovery is a distinct and deeply personal process thus improving the mother/infant relationship and parenting confidence.
As part of the Perinatal team the post holder will provide practical, individual/group support to mothers within the service using their own lived experience and role modelling to enhance the therapeutic relationship and enable mothers to achieve their individual recovery goals.
Main duties of the job
This role is to support mothers during the perinatal period working as part of Perinatal Community Services and the Mother & Baby Unit (MBU).
