Job summary

Lewisham CAMHS Child Well Being Team is an early intervention service designed to help meet the mental health needs of children and young people (CYP)

The post holder will provide operational and strategic leadership for the CWP team alongside the current Clinical Service Lead to ensure timely delivery of evidence-based interventions for mild-to-moderate mental health issues

The post holder will further be responsible to support local workforce development in the line with local and national transformation plans. Working with the Lewisham Leadership team to ensure a co-ordinated approach to service delivery in various settings e.g. GP practices and CAMHS settings,

Main duties of the job

-Operational: covers the management of the team, including clear lines of reporting and how they function in line with mental health governance, the process for escalating any problems or issues-Quality assurance-Strategic: monitoring key outcomes and implementing regular evaluations to allow for continued learning, innovation and improvement.-Stay up to date of national programmes for the CWP workforce development and funding wave applications through links with NHS England (NHSE)-Responsible for submitting relevant data requirements as requested for local performance and management meetings and other as agreed.-Undertake and support service evaluation, audit, research and policy development.-Work with stakeholders: local commissioners (CCG), GP practices, community settings, CAMHS, local mental health & well-being services.-Work in collaboration with stakeholders, partners and communities towards systemic change that supports advancing mental health equality and narrowing health inequalities and disadvantage.-Attend regular regional and national meetings as required.

To work in conjunction with the Service Manager to develop effective quality assurance and performance systems that support performance against CAMHS KPIs and provide staff with feedback on their performance.

To establish and maintain effective working relationships aTo ensure that staff engage in regular meetings, tTo provide intensive supervision to CWP team.

Staff Management

Provide assessments of children and young people referred to the CWP team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources.Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options.Provide support for CWPs in using CYP IAPT compliant routine outcome measures.Ensure clear objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with CWPs on a regular basis as part of their continuing professional development.To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.Provide specialist expertise, advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to children and young people formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.Contribute directly and indirectly to a framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all children and young people of the service, across all settings and agencies serving children and young people with learning disabilities and mental health problems/challenging behaviour.To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual children and young people and to provide advice to other professions on risk assessment and risk management.Act as care coordinator, where appropriate, taking responsibility for initiating planning and review of CWP CAMHS care plans including children and young people, their carers, referring agents and others involved the network of care.
