Job summary
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) are looking for TWO dynamic, enthusiastic junior doctors in General Adult Psychiatry to join Virginia Woolf and Evans Ward at the Ladywell Unit.
If you are looking for an exciting front line clinical role with opportunities to be involved in service development and incorporating quality improvement methodology to evaluate changes, then this is the ideal post for you.
You will be providing input for a male inpatient ward in Lewisham (Evans ward) or a female inpatient ward in Lewisham (Virginia Woolf ward).
We welcome applications from Core trainees who may be looking to take a break from training in the near future or from doctors who have completed the Foundation Programme and are looking to get more experience in psychiatry. It is essential that applicants have completed their foundation training and have experience of working in health care settings in the UK prior to applying for this post.
You will be expected to work from 9am-5pm, Mon to Friday.
The post holder might need to be involved in the on call rota dependent on the number of other Doctors on the rota.

Main duties of the job
The essential duty in this role includes day to day assessment and management of patients with acute and severe mental illness who have been admitted to the ward. Patients can be admitted informally or under the Mental Health Act.
