Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Team Administrator to join the Dementia Clinical Nurse Specialist (DCNS) Service and Lewisham Assistive Technology Occupational Therapist (ATOT). Working closely with clinical staff and admin teams.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have robust organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and will also be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes including Outlook, Word and Excel. The post holder will be comfortable with IT and be keen to learn new software packages and processes.

Job responsibilities

The team administrator provides a comprehensive, efficient and effective secretarial and administrative service to the Dementia Clinical Nurse Specialist, which comprises three dementia clinical nurse specialists (two covering Lewisham, one covering Southwark).

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest providers of mental health services in the country. It provides services locally across Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark as well as regionally, nationally and internationally. The psychological medicine and older adults directorate provides specialist health and social care services to older people and people with dementia across Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. Its portfolio of services includes community and day services, in-patient, continuing care as well as a range of specialist provision. The Dementia CNS service is a community-based service that meets the needs of those living within the London boroughs of Lewisham and Southwark, who are living with a diagnosis of dementia in the community but who do not require more intensive input, such as of the community mental health team. The team aim to support carers and individuals with dementia to live as well as possible alongside a diagnosis.

  • oRSA III standard or equivalent experience of word processing including experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word / Outlook / Excel / PowerPoint / Teams)

  • oExperience of dealing with a range of difficult or challenging situations both on the telephone and in person
  • oExperience of working in an NHS or social care environment, within a framework of confidentiality, ideally in a community mental health setting

  • oExperience of working within a quality improvement framework, data collection and analysis

Knowledge / Skills

Essential

  • oExcellent knowledge and use of English language with excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • oTyping speed of 60 wpm (minimum)
  • oAbility to navigate databases and experience in preparing and maintaining spreadsheets
  • oKnowledge of Health & Safety within an office setting
