About the team:

The Improvement Service is part of the Quality Centre within The South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The service plays a key role in enabling the Trust to use adopted improvement methodology within the context of Our Care Improvement System, (the Trust's quality management system) and to deliver the Trusts strategic ambitions set out in Changing Lives Aiming High strategy. The work of the service underpinned by improvement and organisational science, theories and principles and evidence-based practice, to enable services, teams and individuals to work at their best to deliver safe and effective care and outcomes that matter to patients, families and carers.

Main duties of the job

About the role:

The primary purpose of the Quality Improvement (QI) Programme is to take a lead role in the transformation of the culture of the Trust to one of continuous improvement which is delivered through the Trusts 5 strategic objectives and quality management system, namely Our Care Improvement System (Care IS). Our approach enables active participation of staff service users/ carers in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of system wide improvements using the established methodologies (quality improvement methods, pilot and evaluation methods, organisational psychology and behaviour change).

The two QI advisor roles will work as members of the QI team and provide QI coaching to clinical teams and co deliver the Trust wide QI development programmes. Integral to the coaching is the ability to coach people on using data for improvement to reduce unwarranted variation in practice.

About the location:

Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2). We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich and Wandsworth. The team base is at the Maudsley and this is an in person role. Travel will be required across sites.
