We are delighted to be recruiting for Registered Mental Health Nurses to work in our inpatient acute mental health wards and psychiatric intensive care unit, with multiple posts available and based in a beautiful setting with over 200 acres of green space at Bethlem Royal Hospital. You will be able to develop your clinical skills and experience working with varied and complex mental health presentations within multi-disciplinary teams.
We offer additional training that is specialised to our services giving you risk assessment and risk management skills which are invaluable in the mental health profession.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver high quality safe nursing care, ensuringconsistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence which comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.You will provide care for presenting service users from initial contact and assessment, formulating and delivering care plans, and evaluation of care. You will assess the risks and needs of service users to plan and evaluate care using a collaborative approach with service users and their carers. Providing accurate information about care in an accessible format to patients and their relatives
The post holder will co-ordinate a first-class service that includes assessment and monitoring of physical health, maintaining service users rights, supervising junior staff and students, working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and maintaining a safe and therapeutic working environment and accurate records.

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK as well as substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. We work closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London and are part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre. SLaM employ around 5000 staff and serve a local population of 1.1 million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient and community services. Currently, provide inpatient care for approximately 5,300 people each year and treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; as well as substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich.
