o To provide specialist psychological services in the field of psychological trauma, which encompasses specialist assessment, including diagnosis and formulation of psychological difficulties, treatment planning, treatment management and monitoring of treatment response and outcomes.o To work as an autonomous professional within the Trauma Service provided by Maudsley Health Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS).o To work in accordance with the Abu Dhabi Department of Health guidelines and codes of conduct and MH Trauma Service and wider organizational policies and procedures.o To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
Main duties of the job
Clinical and Client Careo To undertake specialist psychological assessments including diagnostic assessments for PTSD and Complex-PTSD.o To develop individualized collaborative formulations and provide evidence-based interventions for patients presenting with PTSD and Complex PTSD.o To develop individualized collaborative formulations and provide evidence-based interventions for patients presenting with comorbid mood and/or anxiety disorders that have a trauma etiology.o To provide culturally appropriate psychological interventionso To communicate skillfully and sensitively with patients and their families.o To deliver treatment or liaise with carers/family members through with the support of interpreters.o To assess any clinical risk.o To manage any safeguarding concerns.o To produce detailed clinical reports, where appropriate.
Responsibilities for Service Clinical Functioningo To liaise with referrers and other professionals concerned with patients/clients.o To utilize theory, evidence-based literature and research on psychological trauma to support evidence-based practice when working with clients/patients.Policy and Service Developmento To follow organizational policies and procedures relevant to current role.o To propose changes to practices or procedures that may contribute to enhancing the services offered by the team and wider service.o To participate in any ongoing implementation projects.

Teaching and Training To undertake occasional teaching and training of pre- and post- qualification psychologists and provide specialized training to other professionals, as appropriate. To use outcome measurement and other standardized assessments to facilitate service evaluation, maintaining professional standards and continuing professional development To receive regular clinical and professional supervision from a consultant Clinical Psychologist in line with registration and service guidelines. To ensure ones own Continuing Professional Development in line with the Department of Health- Abu Dhabi licensing requirements. To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current developments in professional and clinical practice and of any changes to relevant legislature and policies. To adhere to the Department of Health- Abu Dhabi Professional Practice Guidelines and service policies and procedures.
General To travel to meetings, home visits and training venues as appropriate and when required. To be aware of the potential risk to self and others that may be present within the service in relation to challenging behaviors and remain knowledgeable of all service policies with regard to the management of challenging behaviors. To respond appropriately and professionally to emotionally distressing situations and to support others, where appropriate, when they may experience such situations. To work flexibly, as required.
