We are delighted to invite applications for a Specialist Grade Doctor post (10Pas) to join the established Centre for Interventional Paediatric Psychopharmacology and Rare Diseases (CIPPRD) & CIPP Rett Centre. We are a national and specialist outpatient Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated specialist grade doctor who is committed to providing and maintaining high quality and standard of psychopharmacological service and patient care for children, adolescents and adults with Rett Syndrome. This specialist grade doctor post is developed due to the growth and expansion of the Centre as we continue to be recognised nationally on providing a highly specialist neuropsychiatry clinical service for Rett Syndrome as well as on leading clinical trials for the patients.
The post holder is expected to provide expertise and excellence in the specific specialty in relation to Rett Syndrome and associated comorbidity. It focuses on providing holistic specialist care, conducting clinical trials and translational research, and developing digital health and precision medicine strategies to monitor and manage patients.
We are well-regarded by services and service-users across the UK and abroad. The CIPPRD was the Winner of 2015 RCPsych Award for Psychiatric Team of the Year: Children & Adolescents
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide expert specialist assessment and medicals of children with severe and complex neurodevelopmental and / or neuropsychiatric difficulties with Rett Syndrome and other associated comorbidities. They will work independently in providing management and follow-up of these children in this defined specialist specialty, as agreed with the head of service and consultant and within local clinical governance frameworks. The post holder will be responsible for Rett syndrome patients in the Medication Stabilisation and Monitoring Clinic, as an expert decision maker to provide psychiatric input for both routine and emergency clinical care.
