Gresham 2 is offering a one year secondment to the post of Band 6 Clinical Charge Nurse.
This role is suitable for RMNs who have completed Preceptorship and gained relevent experience in a Band 5 RMN role or Band 6 RMNs looking to gain experience on a male acute ward.
The post holder will deliver and support high quality, safenursing care; ensuring high standards of practice and clinicalexcellence which comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council code of professional conduct.
As a CCN you will promote and develop clinical leadership and clinical practice and be a positive role model to junior team members through the practice of evidence-based care.
You will be expected to support professional development through clinicalappraisal and supervision. Your own professional development will be supported and may include further study.
Gresham 2 is based at Bethlem Royal Hospital, within a beautiful setting in over 200 acres of tranquil space filled with orchards, meadows and woodland, benefiting the physical and mental health of all.
Bethlem is unique in that it provides ample free parking to all staff, service users and visitors. The site has easy access to nearby main roads and is within walking distance of Eden Park and West Wickham stations, in addition to many bus routes.

Gresham 2 is a 22 bed male acute ward; as the largest ward in the trust, this is a fast paced environment with the oppertunity to gain experience of a range of presentations.
We are commited to the Continuing Professional Development of all team members and provide regular Teaching Sessions, in additon to the trust-wide training. There are a range of Staff Wellbeing Initiatives including Staff Counselling, the Critical Incident Support Service (CISS), Reflective Practive and access to a Green Room rest space for staff, filled with plants, providing an opportunity for staff to distance from routine activities and relax.
We have a full Multi-Disceplinary Team on the ward and benefit from Psychology input from the Actue Psychology Service, and other professional groups including Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Dietietics, Phamacy and many more.
Our goal is to support the recovery journey of the people who use our service, in a holistic fashion; addressing both mental and physical health, alongside social issues and psychological wellbeing and supporting people. We aim to involve families and carers as far as possible and signpost them to appropriate support and resources.

Clinical Skills1. Working autonomously within the parameters of the role leading and supporting junior staff and wider care team to implement the delivery of quality nursing care, contributing to the physical, psychological, social, recreational and spiritual care in a recovery-focused way through therapeutic engagement and activities, and taking steps to address any issues that arise.2. Leading on and undertaking activities to ensure that the fundamentals of care are met - nutrition, hydration, hygiene, comfort, emotional and social support:
- Co-ordinating and evaluating collaborative patient-centred care; getting feedback and improving plans with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
- Providing accurate information about care in an accessible format to patients and their relatives / carers.
- Liaising and working positively with members of the multi- disciplinary team and partner organisations.
- Administering, and monitoring the side-effects of, medication; monitoring service user compliance.

Assisting the team manager in ensuring the team is safely staffed, prioritising and deploying resources within budgetary parameters and escalating concerns to senior nursing staff where appropriate in accordance with HR policies and procedures.32. Supporting the team manager to investigate incidents and complaints:compile reports and disseminate this information to senior management.33. Recognising nursing practice that needs improvement and work inpartnership with the team manager to ensure appropriate action is taken to address it.34. Supporting the team manager to ensure mandatory and statutory training are up to date for all staff.35.
