Job summary
We are looking for a committed and energetic Locum Consultant to join the highly motivated team of clinicians in Lambeth CAMHS.
This is a locum Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry post based at Lambeth CAMHS, within South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (SLaM).
Candidates should be aware that there will imminently be substantive consultant opportunities within Lambeth CAMHS arising as a result of consultant promotion, so this represents an ideal opportunity to join the consultant team in Lambeth and contribute to the development of the substantive job plan.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based mainly (6 sessions) with the Child and Adolescent Community Service (River Team) for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. This team is the largest of the Lambeth CAMHS teams and is located at 35 Black Prince Road in Kennington, London and includes providing 4 sessions to the LARC (Lambeth CAMHS ADHD Medication Review Clinic).
The post holder will work alongside 4 other Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists within the Borough, two specialty doctors and a core and higher speciality trainee. Lambeth CAMHS is made up of six teams including the Tier 3 Child and Adolescent Community Service (River), Early Intervention CAMHS (Spring), Community Crisis Team (Rapids), Children Looked After Mental Health Service (CLAMHS), the CAMHS Youth Offending Team (CAMHS-YOS), and the Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS). The teams are multidisciplinary and include a wide range of experienced staff.

- Fully registered with GMC and Licence to Practice
- CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or within 6 months of acheiving)
- Membership of Fellowship of RCPysch
- Registered or eligible for immediate registration for Section 12 approval and AC status under the Mental Health Act
Desirable
- Additional specialist training/qualification relevant to child and adolescent psychiatry
- Higher Degree or additional approved qualification in a relevant therapeutic practice
Experience

- Higher Training relevant to the consultant post of EU equivalent
- Structured learning experience or clinical experience of work in child and adolescent psychiatry
