Job summary

We want the people of Westminster to have a fully integrated and coordinated mental health system which focuses on people's strengths and supports their whole health and wellbeing. The borough is dynamic and innovative and is already well progressed towards Integrated Neighbourhood working.

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic, innovative experienced applied psychologist with significant consultant level experience to bring psychological knowledge and expertise to this vision. The role is both clinical, operational and strategic in nature bringing psychological leadership to multi-professional continuous improvement and transformation of service design across the Mental Health system in Westminster.

The role is to transform, lead and ensure the co-ordinated delivery of high-quality contemporary services for adults experiencing mental health issues in the Borough. We believe in providing the right level of care and support at the right time so that people can flourish, contribute and live a healthy life of their choosing.

The post holder will be an exceptional leader actively encouraging and supporting the Borough to develop its people to meet the needs of the people of our diverse communities.

Main duties of the job

Leadership, governance and management of CNWL psychology provision within the Borough of Westminster; Adult Community Mental Health Services (CMHH), Older Adult CMHH, bi-Borough Forced Migration Service and Perinatal services.

To lead and continue the transformation of the multi-professional Psychosocial Interventions offer across Westminster Adult CMHHs; working closely with all relevant psychological professionals and others who provide psychosocial interventions (Psychotherapy, Arts Psychotherapy, Occupational Therapy and wider MDT colleagues)

To ensure the services are accessible and acceptable to service users from all local communities and addresses health inequalities and discrimination in the access to and provision of services.

To manage and supervise the lead for the Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) provision across the Borough

Essential

  • Entry-level qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology as detailed below; professional Doctorate, (or equivalent combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level additional training) that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration
  • Additional qualification(s) beyond entry-level qualification in a specialised area of psychological practice and / or leadership relevant to local services through formal post-qualification training course, OR a combination of specialist short courses to equivalent level
  • Completed training course in clinical supervision
  • Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of CPD.
