This vacancy is open to nurses with desirable experience in clinical research and/or primary care.

However, anyone who can demonstrate that they can apply their clinical experience to promoting and delivering research within the community will be considered.

The successful candidate will be expected to screen, consent, recruit and collect data from participants for a diverse portfolio of research studies across the North Central and North East London.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with experience in clinical research or enthusiasm to learn and explore the primary care/community research field.

We are looking for nurses who are confident in their ability to explore and develop new skills and opportunities to enhance patient care across our regions.

You should have the ability to work with limited but regular supervision.

You should have excellent communication skills, be friendly, helpful, and flexible, and be confident and willing to take on a challenge and work under pressure while maintaining a pleasant attitude.

As a Research Nurse:

  • You will be using your skills/clinical experience differently.
  • You will make your clinical skills count towards creating new treatments.
  • You will work with researchers, patients, community services teams, GPs, other primary care teams, non-NHS settings (care homes, prisons, dental practices, community settings, hospices, etc.), and NIHR stakeholders.
  • You will work on various studies; each day will be interesting and different.
  • You will acquire new skills that count towards professional development and enhance your revalidation portfolio.
  • You will have the opportunity to experience the role of a Clinical Research Nurse and see if you are drawn into this direction.
  • You will have an opportunity for a change in career direction.

We are affiliated with the NIHR North London Regional Research Delivery Network and are the R&D office for Primary Care/non-NHS across North Central and North East London. Our office is based in Kentish Town.

Training, support and mentoring will be provided.
