We are recruiting 1.6wte permanent Band 6 Operations Managers to lead our Single Points of Access (SPA) for both Adult and Children's services working as part of the wider Business Support and Administration Service.

Main duties of the job

Working hours will be across a 7 day rota Monday to Friday 8am-8pm, and Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm.

These roles are a vital part of the front-end service for Milton Keynes Community Health Services. You will join a highly motivated and supportive team, playing a key role in ensuring our services run smoothly and efficiently.

The Adult and Children's SPAs provide a crucial link between patients, carers, healthcare professionals and CNWL clinical services, acting as both an internal and external point of contact. Our SPAs manage all incoming communications from service users and professionals, coordinating referrals, supporting appointment management, and ensuring enquiries are handled promptly, professionally and with compassion.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Line Management and Supervisory Experience, including performance management.
  • Experience of working in a Senior Administrative role in the NHS
  • Experience of dealing with client complaints and concerns
  • Robust knowledge and use of SystmOne and its application to management of clinical workflow and clinical reporting
  • Experience of dealing with client complaints and concerns
  • Understanding and experience of Key Performance Indicators and their correlation to business aims and objectives
  • Knowledge of Data Protection Legislation and its application to health services
  • Experience of setting up and using IT collection formats and databases

Communication and IT skills

Essential

  • Able to build positive relationships with managers and colleagues, and communicate effectively and empathetically with service users.
  • Advanced IT skills with experience of using IT to produce complex information.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Educated to Degree or Higher National Diploma, NVQ level 4 or evidence of equivalent standard of practice
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

Desirable

  • Management qualification
  • Willing to undertake further skills development
