Job summary

You are required to respond within an hour to A&E to carry out crisis mental health assessment on children and young people who presented in A&E. This role involves clinical risk assessment, and management and safe discharge plan in the community.

You will be working with other professionals in the community liaising with them in joint care planning.

Following discharge from A&E, the clinical practitioner offer a 7 days follow up appointment to review the young person clinical risk, and mental health.

You will receive regular clinical supervision from an experienced practitioner and support.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the UCT Team, you will be expected to assess young people in the Emergency Departments.

The post holder will be involved in completing a comprehensive assessment of young people with mental health needs (including risk assessment, the development of risk management plans), follow-up reviews, and liaise with the wider CAMHS colleagues and other agencies in developing a joint partnership care plan.

You will be required to make clear autonomous decisions based on an analysis of the complex presenting problems and judgements based on available treatment options. This will include those related to the admission and discharge of children/young people. You will also work closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

As part of the Northwest London CAMHS Transformation, CNWL Urgent Care CAMHS continue to develop a robust 24-hour crisis care pathway supporting children and young people in all the 5 London Boroughs.

Working Hours: 3 longdays/week 8am to 9.30 pm and Night shift 8 pm to 8:30 pm.
