CNWL NHS Foundation Trust (Milton Keynes) are delighted to offer suitable applicants, an exciting opportunity to develop their career by undertaking the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Health Visiting Course.This is run as a joint programme withNorthampton University. The course is split between clinical practice and University attendance.Mileage for practice days and university attendance will be covered from theMilton Keynes0-19 Teambase.
This is an exciting time for Health Visiting in Milton Keynes as we look to the future and develop services designed to meet the needs of our diverse and growing population. We work as an integrated 0-19 service implementing new ways of working to support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme to families in Milton Keynes.
Applicants must be Registered Nurses or Midwives with a current NMC registration and have an interest in addressing the health needs of children and families.The course isrun at Post Graduate Diploma (Level 7),see person specification for application requirements. Applicants must also be holders of a valid driving licence and have accessand use ofa car for the duration of the training.

The post of Student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) is a development post building on existing knowledge,skillsand competencies as a qualified nurse/midwife to achieve a higher level of practice resulting in an academic qualification as well as a recordable/registerable qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

About us
The programme will enable SCPHN students to learn and work towards gaining the standards ofproficiencyfor entry into the NMC register as Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN). In collaboration withNorthamptonUniversitythe Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor, ensures suitable learning environments and create opportunities which will enable the student to develop knowledge, skills and competencies to take on the role of a qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse within the discipline of Health Visiting by the end of the programme.
Once qualified, there is an expectation that you will work for CNWL in a substantive post.(subject toavailability).We currently offer a 6% recruitment and retention premiafor substantive Health Visitors(T&C's apply, further information given at interview)
