Job summary
The Trust has the ambition of delivering high quality patient moving and handling training and has set its longer-term vision to provide this to all staff that need.
The primary purpose of The Patient Moving and Handling Trainer (The Trainer) is to deliver sufficient high-quality patient moving and handling training at designated training locations and also at clinical settings across the Trust. A high regard for safety of patients and staff will be at the core of all training, advice and guidance provided.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have the ability to assess moving and handling equipment and ensure that the most appropriate equipment is used for the needs of patients. The post holder will need to be dedicated and self-motivated as they will act as a source of expert knowledge and advice in all aspects of the safe moving and handling of patients. The post holder will work as part of a small team to plan, develop and deliver effective moving and handling training to all staff identified groups. The majority of the training will be concentrated at training centres that have appropriate equipment. There may also be some requirement to attend any Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust locations where specialist or complex training requirements are supported (this could be by the Advisor, or organized through the equipment provider).
The Trainer may be required to deputise for the Patient Moving and Handling Advisor from time to time.
