Job summary

An exciting opportunity has opened up for you to join our wards at Park Royal Mental Health Centre. At CNWL we are committed to working at the highest standards of clinical excellence.

The post holder will take up the responsibility of being the Unit/Site Coordinator at least four times a month. You will provide unit management support and co-ordinate and facilitate patient flow (bed management) out of hours. In addition, the unit co-ordinator will provide senior nursing support, professional leadership and advice to all clinical areas within the unit, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

"Please note that this role requires successful candidates to be able to engage in Therapeutic Management of Violence and Aggression (TMVA) training, including the use of force techniques. This is because of the high-acuity nature of the ward environment and the need to ensure the safety of both patients and staff. The role is conditional upon candidates being able to engage in TMVA training during the course of their employment whilst undertaking this role."

Main duties of the job

Band 6 nurses work closely with the people who use our services, families, friends and carers andplay an important contribution in how people experience our services. Band 6 nurses are expectedto be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the serviceswe provide by:o keeping the people who using our services as safe as possible through the use of soundclinical skills and effective risk assessmentso ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering toevidence based policies and procedureso ensuring the people using our services have a good experience by respecting, empoweringand working in partnership with people throughout the care planning processWe believe that the best health care is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams working well togetherand in partnership with other teams and services to provide seamless care. nurses work as part of a team and you will contribute to the success of the team by being an effective role model andsupervising other Band 5 nurses, healthcare assistants/ support workers and students to ensure theyare working to the standards which the people using our services deserve.

We are looking for an individual who has effective communication skills not only when engaging with services users, but also with their carers and any other professional(s) involved with the service users care.
