Job summary
TheCamden neuro and stroke team (CNSS team)is a 5 day a week community neurological therapy team based at St Pancras Hospital providing early stroke discharge and community rehabilitation to adults with a neurological diagnosis living in the borough of Camden. The team iscomprisedof occupational therapists, physiotherapists,speechand language therapists, clinicalneuro-psychologists and rehabilitation assistants. We have a strong focus on supportive multi-disciplinary working and therapists work with clients in their homes, in the community or at various centres in Camden.
Main duties of the job
Experience of working with neurological conditions is essential and experience of working autonomously in the community is desired, with the aim of providing neurological therapy in patients homes or in thecommunity .You will have an interest in working as part of a team to provide high quality, patient centred intervention and will be involved in the triage of patients.

You will be expected to work closely with patients families,with colleaguesin other teams, as well as external agencies to provide holistic and effective care.
You will provideassessments and interventions to provide holistic occupational therapy. You will be expected to work autonomously whilst drawingassistancefrom other colleagues in primary and secondary care.
You willbe responsible formanaging your caseloadwithregular supervision andsupport fromyoursupervisor.
You will be expected to be a team player and work with colleagues within the MDT.Working within the team you will have the opportunity to work with a varied and diverse range of neurological conditions

Essential
- Degree/diploma in Occupational therapy
- HCPC registration
- Previous experience of working in the NHS or a similar health economy as an Occupational Therapist/ Occupational Therapy student.
Desirable
- Post Registration clinical courses appropriate to the role e.g. Cognition, Vision, Seating, Upper limb assessment and treatment.
- Membership and/or involvement in National neurological special interest group
- Registration with RCOT
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to produce clear and accurate clinical notes and reports promptly.
- Strong computer literacy skills and ability to use clinical systems and Microsoft Office packages
- Able to travel within a geographical area to meet the requirements of the role.
- Demonstrates flexibility, problem solving, initiative
- Able to demonstrate clinical and professional development .
- Understanding the principles of Multi -Disciplinary Teamwork .
- Understanding of the impact of disability and its effects.
- Awareness of developments in NHS and service delivery
- Demonstration of knowledge of standards of practice, evidence and best practice guidelines in relation to working with neurological conditions .
