Job summary
An exciting opportunity has come up for a technician to join the Wheelchair Service. The service completes mobility, postural and pressure care assessments for adults and children with long term disabilities. The team consists of therapists, technicians and the administration team. We are looking for a motivated individual who can demonstrateefficient working, superior organisational skills and the compassion and professionalism essential for working with vulnerable clients.It is important to us that the successful candidate not only has the skills to do the job but is kind, considerate and recognises how important wheelchairs are to those who use them.
Main duties of the job
To support the multidisciplinary team in the provision of a high quality, patient focused wheelchair service. This involves:
Being delegated responsibility to assess, prescribe and handover certain wheelchairs/ pressure distribution cushions and demonstrate, set up and adjust equipment for its safe use; in a clinic setting or user's home environment
Assisting the wheelchair therapists in the smooth running of clinics and/ or with any complex cases when two persons need to be present. This requires travelling between locations according to the needs of the wheelchair service
Carrying out a range of housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
