Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic clinical psychologist to work in the Brent Early Intervention Team as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary service.
The team work with young people, families and carers aged between 14 and 35 years, who are experiencing or recovering from a first episode psychosis. Service users over the age of 35, experiencing a first episode psychosis will be care coordinated in the Adult CMHT but will be offered access to a NICE approved package of care, including CBTp and Family Intervention from the Early Intervention Team.
Joining Brent Early Intervention Service offers the opportunity to utilise and develop your skills in psychosocial interventions including Family Intervention and CBTp. the post holder will also be part of the wider Brent Integrated Psychology and Psychotherapy Service with access to regular supervision and CPD.
The post-holder will be expected to provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy for clients including one to one sessions, family intervention and groups. You will work alongside Senior Psychologists to develop the scope of therapeutic services within the team.
Strong team skills and the ability to work through consultancy with other staff members will be essential.
We have sessions available in our ARMS pathway so there is a possibility of more sessions for interested candidates.
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the borough Early Intervention in Psychosis Service and support the team in effectively delivering Nice Concordant treatment to service users with a First Onset Psychosis.
To work in partnership with staff from local CNWL Adult CMHT to facilitate access to NICE Concordant treatment for first onset psychosis for service users over 35 years of age.
To deliver psychological interventions (including Family Intervention and CBTp) to service users with a first episode of psychosis, their families and carers.
Undertake specialist psychosocial assessments and provide input and support to service users referred to the Early Intervention in Psychosis Team.
To have an active role with other senior colleagues in the continuing development of a high quality service that is underpinned by evidence based practice, care pathways and NICE guidance.
Contributing to research, audits and team training.
Provide effective care within a multidisciplinary team setting for people experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
To deliver training specific to the role to members of the MDT.
Act as a role model to colleagues, always seeking to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
