Rehabilitation Assistant

Job summary

The post holder will be based at St Pancras Hospital and will be also required to work with patients in their own homes. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who has had previous experience of working with patients with a health condition or in an exercise capacity, who is well organised, able to work independently and as part of a team and able to adapt to different clinical and non-clinical situations. Good IT skills are essential to this role.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role will include providing rehabilitation and/or supported discharge to patients on rehabilitation wards, providing some of the education sessions, and helping with assessments, all with the support of a qualified therapist. You will work under the guidance of health care professionals to assist therapists by carrying out delegated aspects of patient care without direct supervision and reporting back patient's progress or issues to the therapist.

The other part of the role is helping with the day-to-day running of the team alongside other rehabilitation assistants and the administration staff and may include some non-patient facing roles e.g. equipment ordering.
