Main duties of the job
- To oversee the development & implementation of occupational therapy within Feltham A. Supported by the wider team and Lead OT who will be overseeing the growth of OT services in our HMYOI Feltham A.
- To manage a caseload with complex, severe & enduring mental health needs, providing interventions which support & promote improved health. The caseload will be OT specific work, utilising an effective referral process. They will also provide input into the Neurodiverse pathway of care.
- To be responsible for the planning & management of a structured, occupation focussed therapeutic regime within the Enhanced Support Unit. Working collaboratively with young people to facilitate meaningful, skill based activities.
- To work in conjunction with the multi-disciplined team to promote the understanding of the OT perspective & its application to working with this client group.
- To workalongside senior staff in the MDT to support the development of services. To support directorate wide development of OT as part of a supportive & friendly Health & Justice OT network.
- To provide an Occupational Therapy perspective whilst engaging & contributing to professional meetings such as CPA, multi-agency case reviews, risk management meetings, & any other meetings related to the care & treatment of the patients in our care.
- To also act as an educator to students on practice placement, as part of the AHP fair share agreement.
