We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Specialist Doctor in Community Child Health and Neurodisability to join our Community Child Health service in Hillingdon. This is an ideal opportunity to join a dynamic team, passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of babies, children, young people and families in North West London, with the aim to provide the best possible care and ensure our patients achieve the best possible outcomes and wellbeing for life. This is for a substantive Specialist Doctor appointment for a maximum of 10 programmed activities, and would suit a candidate with a strong track record in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics and Neurodisability. Applicants wishing to work less than full time can also apply for this post. There is potential for offering a pathway lead role or statutory role depending on the candidate's suitability, experience and interest. We also have strong program in place to support SAS doctors to be able to gain Specialist Registration with GMC via portfolio pathway (formerly called Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration - CESR).

Main duties of the job

This post is for a Specialist Doctor in Community Child Health and Neurodisability. The postholder is expected to work autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team.

The team hold weekly peer supervision (case discussion) groups and monthly Safeguarding supervision meetings with hospital colleagues. Regular teaching and training opportunities occur locally and Trust wide as part of Community of Practice Learning Programme. The postholder will also be able to join regional network such as neurodisability, CNWL Community Paediatricians and epilepsy networks. They will be encouraged and supported to develop their skills and access further training as part of their career progression, such as joining popular CNWL management fundamentals and quality improvement training course.The post holder will have the opportunity to be the lead for the department for advisory role for SEND, safeguarding and / or sensorineural hearing loss. Other areas of special interest are encouraged where they are consistent with the department's responsibilities to deliver and develop services, which meet the needs of the local children.

The post holder will be a member of a young and vibrant team of Community Paediatrician Team and will work in a variety of settings such as the Child Development Centre, CAMHS, Children's Centres, Schools, Nurseries, the child's home or in other primary care settings. There is no mandatory out-of-hours on-call commitment in this post.
