Job summary

The post holder is responsible for:

  • Contributing to the effective control of legionellosis and compliance with legislation, by performing routine maintenance to water systems across the QTS Estates portfolio.
  • Understanding the post's responsibility to meeting legislation and compliance requirements regarding communication and escalation procedures.
  • Providing support to the Hard FM team by undertaking water flushing and maintenance works.
  • Providing and maintaining a high quality of work to uphold the Company reputation and safeguard staff, visitors and patients.
  • Accurate recording of data and immediate escalation of non-compliance/defects.
  • Liaising with staff and clients on-site to perform all works effectively.

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to A level/NVQ level or with equivalent relevant experience in the Water Treatment industry or an area with transferable skills such as a mechanical, plumbing or engineering background.

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within a healthcare environment, preferably NHS or Mental Health Services.
  • Experience of working within Estates & Facilities/Property Management in a large, multi-site organisation.
  • Experience in being accountable for a compliance activity requiring the confidence and autonomy to act independently whilst being part of a team structure.
  • Experienced in working with an information system or database.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with specialist contractors.
  • Customer Service experience.

Other Requirements

Essential

  • Able to evidence high levels of self-motivation and an ability to work independently while remaining within a team structure.
  • Ability to work well under limited supervision.
  • Demonstrable strong work ethic with a willingness to learn further.
  • Full driving licence

Desirable

  • Confident in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including keyboard skills, use of IT equipment and systems.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with people at all levels in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Demonstrable ability to follow instructions and appropriately raise areas of non-compliance or concern.
