Job summary
This post offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Assistant Psychologist to join the London Women's Mental Health Requirement (MHTR) Service. The service provides short-term psychological intervention to women across London as an alternative to short-term custodial sentences.
We are recruiting for a 1 x full time permanent post and 1 x 18.75 part time fixed term post. Please indicate your expression to be considered for both roles.
Please note: travel across London will be required as part of the role.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of a psychology-led service that provides court-ordered psychological intervention to women, as an alternative to short-term custodial sentences. The role includes assessing service users to determine suitability for the service, independently holding a caseload and providing intervention to service users across London (under supervision). The post holder will also provide outreach to staff in courts and probation offices across London, to ensure they are up to date with MHTRs and are aware of the service. The post holder will be able to access training appropriate to the role.

Clinical1. To undertake assessments and interventions (including neuropsychological tests, self reportmeasures, rating scales, direct and indirect observations and semi-structured interviews ofclients, family members and others involved in the clients care).2. To assist in the development of psychologically based frameworks of understanding and careto the benefit of all clients of the service.3. To formulate and deliver care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or managementof a clients problems within settings where there may be a hostile atmosphere, challengingbehaviour or high levels of expressed emotion.4. To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups.5. To compile risk histories to inform care plans, risk and crisis plans.6.
