Job summary

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and innovative Physiotherapist with specialist skills in neurodevelopment to join our multidisciplinary Paediatric Therapy Team. This role will provide leadership and management to Physiotherapists working within community settings - preschool and schools in Harrow. Previous NHS experience is essential.

You will lead our physiotherapy service in preschool, mainstream and special schools, including the delivery of highly specialist physiotherapy services to a designated caseload within the service, line management and developing the service. Working with other leads you will assure a high-quality service which meets the needs of children and families in line with the service and trust objectives.

The post provides an ideal opportunity to develop leadership and management skills while maintaining a highly specialist clinical caseload. We welcome a dynamic individual with a keen interest in the development, delivery and redesign of Physiotherapy services, so ensuring high quality, personalised and accessible services to users.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide Clinical leadership and development of a team of Physiotherapists working with Children and Young people (CYP) with developmental difficulties and neurodisability within mainstream schools, special schools and the preschool service in Harrow.
  • To manage a highly specialist and complex caseload of infants within preschool/school/Special schools , including Comprehensive advanced clinical assessment and differential; Planning, delivering and evaluating a range of highly specialist treatment programmes; Using highly specialist knowledge and demonstrating advanced skills in dealing with complex issues to generate appropriate strategies for caseload management and wider issues relating to service provision
  • To provide highly specialist advice/second opinions and programmes to PTs, other professionals and parents regarding the management and care of children and young people in both the relevant settings.
  • To provide line management to Physiotherapists and Assistants ensuring supervision, appraisal and development
  • To assume delegated responsibility for delivering clinical governance across the Schools/ preschool services
  • In collaboration with Clinical services manager, they will lead team meetings, audit and research projects, and co-ordinate objectives and projects to ensure a seamless service for children accessing both the preschool and schools service
