.An opportunity has arisen to work as one of the Mental Health Clinical Team Leaders for Brent Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). We are looking for candidates with robust clinical expertise who are also able to demonstrate progressive skills in clinical leadership and management.

The CMHT Deputy Manager (Team Leader) will form part of and help lead the CMHT in conjunction with the other deputy and the team manager. They will help provide a comprehensive service to older patients, clinicians and carers within the borough of and provide support / deputise for the CMHT Manager as required.

Main duties of the job

This Deputy role will involve the full assessment of mental health care needs of older adult patients in the community as part of the CMHT, providing a broad range of specialist psychosocial treatments as necessary. They will carry their own caseload of clients and beexpected to assess patients referred from a variety of clinical settings, acting as a resource and taking the lead in the management and delivery of services where appropriate. This post will have a vital leadership role, acting as a role model for others, in communicating and maintaining a good working relationship between the above named institutions. The post holder will take on the full line management responsibilities of a number of staff within members of the CMHT.

The post holder will also be a nominated deputy for the manager of the Community Mental Health Team and will provide managerial support. The post holder will participate in duty rota attending to urgent referrals.

CLINICAL

  • Whilst working as an autonomous practitioner and team lead for the service promote the health and well being of patients and maintain a safe, caring and therapeutic environment.

  • Utilise advanced knowledge, skills and experience in recognising and de-escalatingpotentially serious and violent situations.
