An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and motivated, Physical Activity Instructor to join our team to work alongside the Occupational Therapists, at Park Royal Centre for Mental Health. You would be joining an established team of Occupational Therapists, Activity Coordinators, Fitness Instructor, Senior Peer Support Worker as well as a wider Multidisciplinary team. We also have opportunities to deliver interventions alongside the psychology and psychotherapy team.

The post holder must have experience in a Fitness and Health related background. A minimum of one National Governing Body Level 2 coaching/Personal Trainer/ fitness instructor qualification or equivalent in sport and physical education is desirable.

Main duties of the job

To support service users, improve their health and wellbeing by coaching individuals/ groups to lead a healthy lifestyle as well as carrying out health promotion intervention

To deliver a range of sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyle opportunities which are safe, structured, progressive and engaging to all.

To work with and support service users to identify and overcome barriers to participation amongst target audiences, through the development of positive and beneficial working

relationships with service users

Have an awareness of local sport, exercise and physical activity providers that will promote social inclusion and skills development for service users.

The post holder will receive regular supervision by SeniorFitness Instructor Occupation Therapist and opportunities for training through Central and North West LondonLearning and Development Zone and the Recovery and Wellbeing College. Staff are also encouraged to develop their skills through reflection and learning. There are also opportunities available within the Trust to develop your career and become an OT apprentice. Previous post holders have moved on within the trust to Apprentice and core profession trainee roles.
