ARC Milton Keynes is a service provided in partnership by CNWL and We Are With You as a free and confidential service for people who live in Milton Keynes.
The service helps people break a cycle of addiction to substances such as heroin, cocaine, and new psychoactive substance as well as long term alcohol or gambling addictions.
We work with people at any stage of their alcohol, drug or gambling difficulties to provide a single point of access to assessment and treatment for problems.
We recognise the importance of providing treatment for both the substance misuse problem, as well as any associated emotional / mental health issues.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
Main duties of the job
To be an active member of the multidisciplinary Team.
To be responsible for providing administrative, secretarial support to the team, which will include word processing, post distribution, receiving and disseminating information, maintaining electronic database/s, general duties and other administrative tasks to assist the Team in carrying out a range of clinical/non-clinical activity efficiently and effectively.
The post will be supervised and the post holder will be required to work as part of a support team assisting other administrative staff, sharing work and providing cover for leave purposes as necessary.

the post holder will be expected to:
- To prepare documents (letters, agendas, reports, etc) by copy or audio typing using a range of appropriate computer software, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to. To take minutes in meetings
- To deal with telephone calls, post and direct contact with service users, internal and external agencies in an appropriate and professional manner, using judgement and discretion where necessary, referring complex matters to relevant members of staff and taking messages when necessary. The telephone system is online and operated via the PC
- To input data to a Patient Care Record System (SystmOne), upload scanned documents, add appointments and send letters using the integrated word facility
- To deal with telephone calls, correspondence and direct contact with clients and internal or external agencies in an appropriate and professional manner, using judgement and discretion where necessary and referring complex/clinical matters to relevant members of staff or duty
- To maintain an effective online filing system for the team
- To ensure the maintenance of adequate stock levels of stationery and other equipment at all times
