Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) is looking for a candidate with the skills and experience to fill the vacancy of an MSK/Biomechanics Podiatry Team Lead for the Milton Keynes Community PodiatryService. As a Band 7 Musculoskeletal Specialist Podiatrist you will be based in the Community and expected to work Full time.
The Milton Keynes Podiatry service provides foot care services within the Milton Keynes area at community sites, residential homes, and domiciliary work.
You will need to be an excellent communicator, able to work independently and confidently and possess highly developed organisational skills. Provide expert advice and training for colleagues, and G.P's.
The successful candidate will be able to prove advanced, evidenced based skills and experience in the management of adult and paediatric podiatry biomechanical pathologies, including experience of work with patients with high risk conditions. Understanding of clinical governance and service improvement are required.
You will be responsible for line management and clinical supervision of Band 6 Podiatrists and a Band 3 Podiatry assistant as well as training of Student Podiatrists.
Main duties of the job
To work in accordance with the College of Podiatry and Health and Care Professions Council Code of Professional Conduct. To undertake clinical assessment and diagnosis of biomechanical/musculoskeletal cases.
To assess podiatry patient on 'needs based' following departmental guidelines and ensuring timely care of patient.
To use clinical reasoning and decision making skills to provide in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
To be able to carry out full range of podiatry clinical skills such as assessment, diagnoses using X-rays, MRI's and treatment of a range of podiatric conditions including nail surgery.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatments/ treatment options in an understandable way, enabling and giving the patients options to agree their treat plans.
Provide day to day leadership to clinical staff to ensure their personal development including appraisals Clinical supervision, their line management and the delivery of services by the team.
