SPA Mental Health Practitioner
An opportunity has arisen with the Milton Keynes Specialist CAMHS SPA Team for a registered professional to work within the SPA Team but also form part of the wider CAMHS multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
The role will support the Team Leader by supervising and leading staff within the SPA Team and deputise for them during periods of absence. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality training and supervision to staff in both clinical and daily supervision to the most complex cases and across the full range of presentations.
The successful candidate must demonstrate exemplary assessment skills with the ability to formulate and summarise their assessments to a high standard.

Job responsibilities
To provide a range of specialist interventions, advice and support to young people who are identified as having or at risk of developing emotional, psychological or mental health issues. To provide advice and consultation support to others in Tier 1 working with children/young people working across Milton Keynes.
The principal task will be to ensure mental health needs are identified and addressed through appropriate services. This will include the assessment of mental and emotional health needs and facilitating to better understand mental health issues and appropriate referral pathways. As a member of Milton Keynes Specialist CAMHS, the post holder will also be responsible for a personal caseload, working under the professional supervision of a Senior Clinician in CAMHS.
