Job summary

This is a great opportunity for someonetouse their lived experience of CEN related difficultiesin South Westminster Community Mental Health Hubs. The role would involve both clinical work and consultation within theHubs under the CEN Pathway team in Westminster tosupport the ongoing development of the CEN Pathway.

This post has been developed specifically for people who have a lived experience of recovering from distress which has been understood or diagnosed as 'personality disorder' and who have worked for a substantial period as peer workers or lived experience practitioners in systems specific to 'personality disorder'. Through sharing wisdom and insights from their own experiences, paired with a sophisticated understanding of the theory pertinent to 'personality disorder', the Lived Experience Practitioner will consult to colleagues and hold a small caseload, inspiring hope and belief that recovery is possible.

Main duties of the job

Job Purpose:

- To deliver care and treatment for service users under integrated mental health hub setting, within the Westminster Complex Emotional Needs Pathway.

- To work as key liaison and outreach professional between the Waterview Centre (specialist Personality Disorder service) and mental health teams in Westminster.

- To provide clinical supervision, consultation and training to staff in the case management of service users, specifically in relation to Complex Emotional Needs.

- To provide insights from own lived experience to relevant parties, including service users and colleagues, regarding the presentation and behaviours of service users within the integrated mental health hub setting, within the Westminster Complex Emotional Needs Pathway.

  1. To lead on triaging, signposting and coordinating of referrals to the Community Hub Team, specifically in relation to the Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) Pathway
  2. To conduct psychologically informed assessments, care-planning and considering treatment options, in collaboration with service users, carers and members of the multi-disciplinary team, in accordance with the stepped care model
  3. To deliver and co-deliver brief interventions, such as Psychoeducation Groups, Recovery and Wellbeing College courses, and Structured Psychological Support (SPS) for people with personality disorder
  4. To provide time-limited case management for a small caseload of service users, skilfully using own lived experience to foster hope.
  5. Demonstrate and share insights from own recovery to model and mentor a recovery process with service users.
  6. To provide clinical supervision and consultation and training to staff in delivering structured clinical management for people with personality disorder, within the Community Hub Team
  7. To provide liaison to inpatient wards to consult on the management of people with personality disorders, as and when indicated
