What are we looking for?
We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled individual who is able to maintain clinical curiosity and keen to engage in reflective practice as well as be able to be an advocate for children, young people and families' needs. This is a role is within our Learning Disabilities Team for an Assistant Psychologist whom is wishing to gain experience in working within a specialist area.
We are keen to recruit people from diverse backgrounds. We all work from home as well as from the office, and this can be flexible to suit you and your own needs.
What will be provide you? The post provides an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Psychologist to develop their skills and knowledge via regular clinical supervision with an experience psychologist, being part of Quality Improvement (QI) projects, CPD opportunities as well as multi-disciplinary working within experienced team of Family Therapists, Behavioural Analysts, Nurses, Psychiatrists and Clinical/Counselling Psychologists. You will also have support to prepare for applying to psychology doctoral training courses, if and when you are interested in doing so.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will join the CAMHS LD team which is responsible for the delivery of specialist CAMHS service to children who have a learning disability in the Borough of Harrow.
What does the post entail? This role will include assessment, psychoeducation and therapy (under supervision), as well as supporting the team with service user reviews, creating bespoke communication tools and health monitoring. Our team works from systemic perspective and use adapted CBT, PBS, attachment and compassion-based therapies to work directly with young people with learning disabilities as well as with those who love and care for them.
