This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join our dynamic team and take the role of Social Worker and Safeguarding Lead at Collingham Child and Family Centre.
Collingham Child and Family Centre is a National Tier 4 inpatient CAMHS service for children aged 5-13 years. As one of only 6 units of its kind in the UK, the service provides intensive assessment and treatment for children with complex mental health difficulties alongside work with families and carers. You will work with a friendly and dynamic team which includes nursing staff, psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, family therapies, speech and language therapy, social work, dietician, pharmacist and administrators.
You will receive ongoing support from your peers, Therapy Leads and other Senior Members of the Team. You will be required to work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with potential for some flexibility at times based on the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated individual who is enthusiastic, forward thinking, and adaptable to work within our well established and welcoming multi-disciplinary team. As the ward social worker you will lead on safeguarding within the service and will be supervised by a Senior Social Worker within the Tier 4 CAMHS pathway. The post holder will provide a social work service to children and young people experiencing mental health problems across all sectors of care as part of a multi-disciplinary CAMHS team.
This role will also involve care managing a limited number of young people admitted to the unit. As Care Manager the post holder will be a central point of contact during the admission for the young person, their family/carers and the wider professional network. Part of the Care Manager role is to meet with the young person regularly and to develop a therapeutic relationship to help support all aspects of their care during the admission.
You will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. Where appropriate and where identified in their Personal Development Plan, the post holder may also provide clinical and management supervision to social worker trainees or less experienced social worker colleagues.

To participate in discharge planning from the point of admission, working closely withclinical colleagues to understand changing risk levels throughout admission.7. To ensure that discharge planning and discussions with families and professionals, areprioritised as soon as is practicable during admission, in order to reduce delayed dischargeor unnecessary acute hospital stays for children.
