Perinatal Community Nursery Nurse, Band 5 for Hillingdon Community Perinatal Mental Health Service

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit an experienced Nursery Nurse with excellent clinical skills and confidence to work autonomously with service users experiencing perinatal mental health challenges. The aim of the team is to detect, prevent and treat perinatal mental health problems improving the experience of pregnancy and the postpartum period for women and their families. The mother, infant and family are all very much at the centre of the care delivered. Supporting mothers with baby care to develop skills, and confidence while promoting infant mental health well-being, is key to the nursery nurse's role.

About us

Following a successful bid to the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Community Services Development Fund, Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust has secured new investment to continue to develop its specialist community perinatal service. The services run across five London Boroughs (Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Hillingdon, Brent and Harrow). They each work closely with Maternity Services, Community Mental Health Teams, CAMHS, Home Treatment Teams, Primary Care Services, other community organisation and the Mother and Baby Unit at Coombe Wood. The trust wide perinatal services have dedicated management teams overseeing the formulation of perinatal mental health trust policies, adherence with NICE guidelines, safety and quality assurance with service user involvement.
