Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative clinical psychologist/CBT Therapist to work in the newly transformed Queens Park and Paddington Mental health Hub. The Hub is an integrated multi-disciplinary service designed to deliver a new model of care working closely with Primary Care Networks and other community services.

Main duties of the job

The team works with clients with severe and enduring mental health problems including complex anxiety, depression and trauma, psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, complex emotional needs, recurrent depression and complex PTSD. As part of a wider psychological therapies team, the post holder will be responsible for providing clinical psychology services to improve clinical outcomes for service users experiencing problems associated with complex mental health problems. In particular the post holder will be expected to provide specialist psychological assessment and effective evidence based interventions within the Hub.

Preference will be given to applicants with specialist skills in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) but we are also interested in candidates with interests in other specialist psychotherapies such as, Family Interventions (FI), DBT, ACT or Schema Therapy approaches. Candidates who have experience in delivering psychosocial interventions in group and other formats are also encouraged to apply.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology Or full BABCP accreditation (CBT Therapist).
  • Must have registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist or be fully or provisionally accredited with the BABCP

Desirable

  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.

  • Capacity to communicate effectively in English as evidenced in application form.

  • Experience of working with diversity in a multicultural setting.

EXPERIENCE

  • Assessed experience of working as a trainee/qualified psychologist/therapist in a CMHT or similar complex care service working with patients with complexity and co-morbidity.

  • Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision.
