An outstanding opportunity to lead Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust's respected Psycho-oncology team.The Consultant Psychologist role is high-profile within Imperial's Cancer services, leading the specialist team of psychological professionals in psycho-oncology and influencing at the Trust, Alliance, pan-London and National levels to continually improve the cancer psychosocial care pathway, in line with the London 2020 model. The Psycho-oncology team provide Level 3/4 input to all people affected by cancer, under the care of all cancer MDTs, across all sites of ICHT (Hammersmith, Charing Cross, St Mary's and Queen Charlotte & Chelsea). The team have established synergy with other support services within the Trust and the onsite Maggie's West London, as well as relevant VCSEs (e.g. Trekstock), and clear working relationships with other Psycho-oncology and IAPT teams in NWL.
Main duties of the job
As well as a strong track record in Clinical Health Psychology and specifically psycho-oncology, we will be looking for applicants who will communicate the insights and expertise of psychology to all levels of the organisation and manifest systems leadership skills. We seek applicants with a research, innovation & quality improvement mind-set, who will be pro-active in collaborating in multidisciplinary projects to address patient and service priorities. Internal audit and regular reporting is an important aspect of the role. There is the opportunity for the postholder to be project lead for the Trust's Schwartz Rounds , supported by a medical consultant clinical lead, a psychologist lead facilitator, by medical and nonmedical facilitators, and an assistant psychologist coordinator. The program will deliver regular Rounds to all staff at Imperial. Relevant experience will be desirable but not essential, as training and mentoring can be provided.

- Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC.

- Experience of successfully undertaking leadership roles
- Evidence of skill in management of others

- Experience of supervising assistant and trainee psychologists having completed the relevant training.
